Welcome to Living in L.A.; this blog is a useful resource for anyone interested in area nitelife, technology, health/wellness, martial arts, or the author. Readers will find these topics woven together amongst the thoughts and experiences shared in this blog from a guy trying to make it in La La Land. I used to call this blog, 'Your daily dose of todayscyrano', but that name is just too long.... In contrast, the current name tells the tale. I hope to parlay my experiences, along with a collective of useful, entertaining information, through uncommon storytelling, advice, and humor. You are welcome to find out if I succeed or not by perusing through the pages of this blog.

Introducing:
Todayscyrano, aka: Kev 2 (of the brothers Kev), Kevlar, or Kung Fu Kev.
I moved out to the Los Angeles area from Florida almost 5 years ago. Nowadays, I teach martial arts and self-defense (my training is in wing chun kung fu) in and around L.A. with my mobile service: Kung Fu Kev's Mobile Dojo (link). Martial arts is a long-time passion of mine; writing is another. When I write, the words may take any form: stream of consciousness, articles, short stories, blogs, poetry, journals, and reviews. I write reviews and help promote night life, events, and people in Hollywood and Los Angeles whom I think deserve to be promoted. I do this because dancing is yet another passion in my life. But that's easy to tell if you have ever seen my hybrid kung fu-dance style. Beyond that, I am pursuing a career in social media, as I possess a growing desire to learn more about technology, social networking, and growing my digital footprint.
Here's another way to see things:
I wander the planet as I envision most of you do: searching for myself and bumping into things; things which are also wandering around; searching; and bumping into other things. While we all wander around searching and bumping, you begin to wonder what everyone is searching for.
Well, I'm searching for the truth; or, at least, some good answers. Unfortunately, along my path, I only seem to find more and more questions. So, I try to maintain a sense of self, a sense of style, and a sense of humor along the way. But most of all, I seem to be developing a sense of gratitude and humility.
While all of this bumping and wandering takes place,
I will make note of the funny, sexy, useful, and
interesting forms of human exchange that I encounter... ...and I will bring these tales back to this blog for your enjoyment.
