What's New These Days....

What is L.A. to you?

To me, she is great and twisted; showing me horrors that I long after while alluding a life of the walking dead...

I am glad to report, I severed some of the tentacles that had hold of me since I left.
.That took way too long.

Bones

BONES
Aghast white wash images
crash
as the sleep timer
goes off….
snoozing -
i can but don’t;
i’ll have no more of that, thanks.

egg sizzle routine
back on your toes- tip
balls of the foot- tap
fetching your bones

his bone,
her bone;
(one of many)
they bone.

the bone before
your face,
the one
at your feet.
lifelong tally
of your feats-
divied and displayed
in feet.

stretch
expand
bend
meld

merge

time beyond time
losing sight of
what I knew as time.

bury our bones
in ruts;
routine~
dig for your out;
bone- out
in- deep.

bones buried
in holes so deep:
closets scattered
from backyard to backyard-
in this neighborhood,
in that ~

best to transport;
best to ensure:
the planting of our seed.
so, go forth and prosper-
there’s new bones to bury.

The Bomb Scare pt 1

Last night was fun, as I was alerted of a possible situation by overhearing a cop shouting at a local passerby on my block. I went to the porch for a closer investigation and found that the intersection I live at was taped off, with cop cars and flashing lights everywhere. I suddenly wondered what I was doing with myself in the minutes leading up to this take over, and why I hadn't heard anything....
Oh yes, I was immersed in resume hell, helping one of my kung fu students complete the application process for a job in Yosemite Park on the trails....
Anyway, now that I figured that out, I looked up my block to notice that most of the activity was centered on an area just 250 yards north of where I was. Oddly enough, the building in question was the one I parked in front of. After overhearing (by sticking my nose into) the conversation (yelling match) between the officer and the passerby, I established that the bomb squad has been called and that no one was allowed on the road or, of course, anywhere near the area where my car was parked.
I then calmly asked for a word with the officer, who confirmed I was not allowed to get my wallet (which I accidentally left in the car), which would have allowed me to walk to the store for food; in fact, I was not allowed to walk to the store, or even, stand on my porch any longer (a nugget deemed of such suddenly dire importance, that another cop, rather brutishly, began yelling for me to go inside this instant, ignoring the CONVERSATION I was having with the first cop).
I became concerned that I had a visitor and no food for dinner and no beer for dessert.... Then, it hit me, I also have no insurance coverage for bomb damage to my car....
That's when the kid gloves came off! With all this customer service expertise being displayed by the boys with the badges, I knew I had to take things into my own hands.....
