The Week That Was 

Last week was a 'hurry, hurry, hurry; just to wait, wait, wait' week for me, personally. This prevailing theme set the tone for me to miss one of the most anticipated events of the year, Timo Maas at Ecco Lounge in Hollywood. Of course, he was on the slate for last Saturday night. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I missed this one; and I have already strained my hamstring from repeatedly kicking myself. So, as far as The Week That Was, I've got nothin' for you...... not even an update as to how good the show was.

With an ear for the tunes and an innate understanding of what works on the dancefloor M.A.N.D.Y. are on a seemingly never-ending circuit of the globe with their in-demand DJ sets. From their first meeting as 15-year-olds on a tennis court, the 2 young men who dreamed of making a career of music, parties and having fun have come a long way, and are now well & truly at the top of their game. 

2008 was the penultimate year for M.A.N.D.Y.  culminating in 2 of their most memorable DJ sessions: one at the helm of UK club Fabric’s esteemed mix CD series, and the other at the rain-drenched Love Parade in Germany, where they played live for 500,000 music lovers who refused to run for cover from the wet and continued dancing in the streets for the awestruck M.A.N.D.Y. boys. 

MUSIC: Tonight there is NOTHING Good to do. No Fun, Females, or hot, A List Clubs......

      That's right: don't go out tonight; Stay Home!  And whatever you do, don't go to My House. The party there will be lame, the music will be poor quality, and you'll have no beautiful women to dance with....

APRIL FOOLS!!!

Now, that didn't FOOL you; did it? You weren't seriously entertaining the notion of staying home, were you? If so, shame on you; you MUST have forgotten that this is an alterEgo Events party; because: they know how to make the party go just right.

Seriously? Home? OK, that's fine; stay home - that's more to go around for the rest of us; but you'll be sorry when you hear about what you missed.... We will be rockin' all night with Hollywood's sexiest crowd at the hottest place to go on Thursdays! I Want My House Music @ My House!!!

What? Oh, right!! April fools on me....!! Damn, you had me going. I actually thought you were going to miss this party AGAIN, ignoring all the signs of universe telling you to bring your butt to My House!!

The Best Way to Prepare for The Winter Music Conference

When reviewing my notes, I came across a friend's game plan for travel success heading to WMC:

In preparation for her flight to WMC on Monday morning at 6:30am, a friend, who will remain anonymous, explained to me her game plan for travel success. It must have 'just come to her' because she seemed excited that she indeed had a game plan for travel success. The night before crossing paths, she was working at the John Digweed show and didn't get out of the club until 8:30 am or so. It was 2 o'clock the next day when we spoke; so she was definitely running on fumes. In fact, she was so out of it she refused to drink any quality alcoholic beverages, vying only for the cheapest beer in the joint (which happened to be clad in a camouflage design, adding to the humor of the moment). (Don't worry, after a few hours, we were able to talk some sense in her and convince her that a red bull and vodka would be her best bet.)

This, was her game plan for travel success:
Since she had not yet packed for her 7-day, oh-so-important, oh-so-sheik business trip ('Welcome to Miami!' If you haven't been there, you just don't 'get' what I'm saying.), she planned to get (continue getting) totally wasted, then go home and pack while she was still drunk.
Her rationale for doing such a thing: when she arrives in Miami, it will be a mystery as to what clothes she has with her, and any wardrobe planning (whatever the hell that is!) will be shot to hell! This unknown,  impromptu element will add some excitement to the whole adventure!!! ~

Well, I say good luck with that. Personally, I wouldn't need to add any more excitement to my trip if I was  attending just a few of the parties she is planning to attend. But, this just shows the different levels we are on; she's where I'd love to be.....Anyway, I figure if all else fails, she should just go out to the ocean near South Beach where they allow 'almost nude' sun bathing and you can get away with 'almost anything'. There little demand for longterm wardrobe planning on the sand there.

Hell, when you're only wearing one skimpy piece of clothing, nobody even cares about matching ~

Well, I just wanted to interject a bit..... The weather has started to comply nicely with all requests for a season change. Now, it's time to hit the gym, get a quick tan, and do whatever else you have to in order to look good in your bathing suit; 'cause this Sunday is another pool party atop the Standard downtown hotel! Although this still isn't the official start of the season, that date IS fast approaching (that's pool party season, NOT football season, for those of you needing clarification).
